Please add any tips of your own. Note that individual weapons pages may have their own tips. If this page gets too large, we can seperate the tips into categories (general tips, tips escorting NPC's, combat tips, etc).

  • Learn what the books do and use them.
  • Always carry at least one spare food item.
  • Complete the "Out of Control" scoop and acquire Adam the clown's mini chainsaw. Reserve this weapon in your inventory for bosses. Depending on your attack level, it will kill them in under 10 or so swipes, under 5 or 6 if your attack level is high.
  • "Adam the Clown is the best boss to seek out if you have plenty of item spots. There are two books in Bachman's Books in Paradice Plaza and one book in the bookstore in Wonderland Plaza. Finding these books will get you a 27X bonus for Adam's miniature chainsaws. Also, if you turn off the ride, you find a man who unlocks a shortcut to the Paradice Plaza Woman's Bathroom from the Wonderland Plaza Woman's Bathroom. Very useful for getting across the mall."
  • One of the achievements in Dead Rising, "Zombie Genocide", is unlocked if the player kills 53,594 zombies. The unusual number is announced in the opening cutscene as the population of Willamette, Colorado, where the game takes place. This also unlocks Mega Man X's real Mega Buster.
  • For Special Forces, Either take a melee weapon to their faces (not reccommended), use their own guns against them (if you can get one, again, not reccommended) or Run like a crazy man towards them and use something like Disembowel for a One-Hit-Kill. The close-range suggestions only work at something like level 38+, though. Adam's chainsaws are a one-hit kill with them, the Real Mega Buster is also.
  • Learn to do these moves as they will be crucial. Jump kick because it knocks down the zombies, Knee Drop because it is an instant kill and saves damage from falling from high places, Football Tackle because it knocks the zombie far, Somersault Kick because it sends em' flying, Disembowel because it kills them in one hit, Zombie Ride because it can get you through big crowds especially in the maintenence tunnels, and last but CERTAINLY not least.... Double Lariat because it gives you decent PP and plus it clears out your immediate area.
  • Always have at least one blank spot in your inventory as some survivors are injured/scared and need help getting to the Security Room.
  • There are several Submachine Guns hidden throughout the mall:
  • SMG 1: Inside the fountain in Al Fresca Plaza.
  • SMG 2: On top of blue overhang in Paradise Plaza. Jump from the middle landing of the stairs closest to the Entrance Plaza.
  • SMG 3: On top of a Lego(R) house in Wonderland Plaza. You'll need to jump off the Spacerider Ride or use the Zombie Ride move.
  • SMG 4: In the same room as the Maintenance Tunnel Key
  • SMG 5: On top of the Chris' Fine Foods sign in the Food Court.
